There should be a new article next weekend in time for St. Patrick's Day!

In the meantime, if you're new to this site please take a look at my older articles from January and February.

The Late Raul Julia's Birthday is today. He starred in the films, The Addams Family and Moon Over Parador.

Brittany Snow, star of American Dreams, John Tucker Must Die and Hairspray turns 22 today.

Enjoy Your Dark Side With The Addams Family

“They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky, they’re all together ooky, The Addams Family!”

In 1991 director Barry Sonnenfeld took on the task of bringing the spooktacular Addams Family into the minds of a new generation.

Starring the late Raul Julia, Angelica Houston, Christopher Lloyd, and Christina Ricci, this film is packed with clever lingo, fantastic costumes, and killer sets.

The story begins on the 25th anniversary of Fester Addams’ disappearance in the Bermuda Triangle. Aided with the help of con-artist/lawyer Tully and Abigail Craven a.k.a. Dr. Greta Pinder-Schloss, her son Gordon assumes the identity of Fester Addams to locate the treasure on the estate.

Once inside the house Fester is taken aback by the strange surroundings of the Addams brood. Everything from dinner that moves to a family cemetery makes Fester wonder what he’s doing there. However, Fester’s mood changes as he bonds with Wednesday and Pugsley.

The new relationship of Fester and his family puts a damper on Dr. Pinder-Schloss’ plans. So she uses her motherly guilt to make Fester turn on Gomez and the gang.

The night of Fester’s going away party Wednesday overhears Dr. Pinder-Schloss and Fester’s plot. She takes off for the many miles of hiding space on the property. When the family returns to the house, after Wednesday’s discovery, they are thrown out.

They move into a flea-bag motel where Gomez gets addicted to daytime television, Morticia becomes a Kindergarten teacher, and the kids sell some brew on the corner.

Never the type to stand by and watch her man suffer, Morticia heads back to the house to negotiate. She’s taken captive by Fester, Tully, and Dr. Pinder-Schloss. Thankfully Thing followed his mistress and runs back for help. Shortly, Gomez arrives through a window and fences for his wife’s life.

Fester’s heart changes for the better and he blows the crooks away with the novel Hurricane Irene. He evens gets a memory jolt by a bolt of lightening and remembers the rotten, but loveable scumbag he used to be.

I recommend this movie because I loved it as a kid. My cousins and I watched it numerous times that I can still recite lines when prompted. After all, who doesn’t love a movie that evokes love, laughter, and lunacy?
